Zulal Wellness Resort, Doha

Qatar’s largest wellness destination, and the Middle East’s first wellbeing resort, Zulal Wellness Resort is a pioneering wellness destination in the Middle East and the first to fully embrace the philosophy of Traditional Arabic & Islamic Medicine (TAIM).

Located in Khasooma, a private coastal location to the north of Qatar and surrounded by the Arabian Gulf, it is conveniently accessible 1.5-hour drive from the center of Doha.

 

Zulal Wellness Resort aims to represent the Qatari heritage through architecture, food, and treatments that are based on Traditional Arabic and Islamic Medicine (TAIM). The mission of the project is mainly to inspire a positive and enduring lifestyle change and thus contribute to building healthier societies. The Family Wellness Resort enables families to enjoy positive wellness experiences together and retreats and facilities are mindfully designed for introducing the next generation to transformative wellness and healthy lifestyles.. Zulal is an Arabic word which means ‘pure natural water’ and is used to reflect the rejuvenating properties of the natural water found in the desert. The sea-inspired interiors pay homage to Qatar’s rich heritage, with eye-catching patterns creating an exclusive feel

Zulal is designed according to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), which include energy and water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, indoor air quality standards, and stewardship over the use and impact of natural resources. The resort has been designed in harmony with its natural surroundings, with extensive outdoor landscaping and dedicated wellness gardens where more than half of all plant species are local, drought-adaptive and saline-tolerant.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Prepared presentation drawings, documents, reviewed CGIs, area developmental planning studies that helped with visualizations and presentation of concepts and designs.

• Area and location studies and its graphical representations,

• Assisted in ensuring that all drawing submittals are in line with MP's requirements, local regulations,, sustainability standards & design quality

• which ensured the team in identifying and flagging architectural issues,

• Provide ongoing support to key stakeholders in evaluating and validating of drawings during design concept stage,
